Google has now revealed its “Now on Tap” feature!
So what does this mean?
When you're in an app — any app — you hold down the home button. Android then figures out what is on the screen and does a Google Now search against it bringing instantaneous information and suggestions based on context. For example, tapping a restaurant name might draw up reviews and menus from Yelp or OpenTable apps so that the user can quickly and easily find reviews and make reservations.
It also means that it’s now more important than ever for brands to think about App Search Optimization (ASO) along with SEO. Google can now find content from inside Apps which is also great for apps, now suggesting them to users based on search context.
